Support for non-Chinese speaking students

In order to encourage non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students to learn Chinese effectively, our kindergarten is committed to providing a learning environment for students to immerse in the Chinese language, and actively constructing a harmonious campus environment and creating a caring atmosphere.

  • Our kindergarten participates in the “Start from the beginning — Chinese Supporting Scheme for Non-Chinese Speaking Students in Kindergarten” launched jointly by Oxfam, the University of Hong Kong and the Education University of Hong Kong. It is committed to improving the Chinese proficiency and learning motivation of NCS children. It designs and provides enrichment courses on Chinese as a second language for NCS children, in hopes of improving the Chinese proficiency of NCS students.

Teachers of NCS students will conduct classroom activities with children in small groups or individually. Through teaching strategies such as stories and games etc., students can learn Chinese happily, so as to enhance the interest of NCS students in learning Chinese, allowing them to adapt to school life as soon as possible.
